Using these DaVinci Resolve keyboard shortcuts will help you save time and work more efficiently.
Editing Basics You’ll Use Daily
- Blade Tool (Cut): B
Quick slice right at your playhead. - Pointer Tool (Back to normal): A
- Razor Clip Directly: Ctrl/Cmd + B
- Trim Mode: T → adjust clip ends without dragging
- Dynamic Trim: W → slip & slide like a pro
- Snap On/Off: N → align clips to edit points or not
- Ripple Delete: Shift + Delete → delete and close the gap
- Insert/Overwrite: F9 / F10 / F11 / F12
(trust me, start slow with these)
⏱ Playback & Navigation
- Play/Pause: Spacebar
- Go Forward/Back: L / J
- Stop: K
- Next/Prev Clip: Up / Down Arrow
- Zoom In/Out on Timeline: Ctrl/Cmd + = / –
- Select All After Playhead: Alt/Option + Y
- Loop Around In/Out Points: Alt/Option + Spacebar
🎧 Audio & Viewer Shortcuts
- Audio Scrubbing On/Off: Shift + S
- SZoom to Fit Viewer: Z
- Bypass Color Grades: Shift + D
- Disable All Nodes: Alt/Option + D
🎨 Color Page Shortcuts
- Add Node: Alt/Option + S
- Add Serial Before Node: Shift + S

🎯 Final Advice from Me
Don’t try to learn ‘em all in a day. Just pick 3–5 that make your current edit smoother. Then next week, add a few more. This isn’t about being fast — it’s about being confident in your workflow. But force yourself to create new neuro pathways in your brain. you must keep using them until they become a habit!
When these become second nature, editing becomes a lot more fun (and less frustrating).
